Thank you for visiting our website, please take a look around. Whether you have just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life – we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our church and all the things we can offer.

Our church caters for all ages. We have some babies in pushchairs and some elderly in wheelchairs! Unlike many churches we have a wide range of ages and whether you are married or single, older or younger, a teenager or a retired, there will be people here who are in a similar position.
We want to make everyone welcome, so if you are new please talk to our ‘Welcome Team’ or someone at the back and stay for tea or coffee after the 10:45am service.

Weekly Services:

Children are most welcome at all our services, but we do we do cater for them especially at the 10:45am service.

Sunday         9:00am           Holy Communion

A quieter service with hymns and some sung responses. It is always Holy Communion, usually Common Worship (modern words and Red book) but on the fourth Sunday it is The 1662 Book of Common Prayer (Older words).

Sunday       10:45am           Morning Worship

The services vary from a Family Service (first Sunday) to Holy Communion (third Sunday), with Morning services second and fourth. The service, hymns and modern songs are projected onto screens and this gives us great flexibility within the wider service pattern. This is the service that most families attend and there are groups for every age, from 3 to 16 years where they can go out for most of the service, except for the family service where everyone stays in and the sermon is ‘family friendly’.

Please feel free to join us for tea, coffee, biscuits and chat in the fellowship afterwards.

Sunday         6:30pm           Evening Worship (Holy Communion 1st & 3rd Sundays of Month)

This is a smaller service than the other two, but it does vary a great deal and particularly with the informal service (usually fourth Sunday) which is led by the band, where anything can happen and the screens are in use.

Thursday    10:00am          Holy Communion

This is a simple, quiet said Common Worship Holy Communion, usually using the same Bible passage used on Sunday at 9 am. It ends with tea and coffee and lasts around an hour.

What do I expect when I visit the church?

People often expect too much; they seem to think that church goers are ‘holier-than-thou’ or too nice to be real. Nothing could be further from the truth, we are all ordinary people, but we come together because we are seeking something deeper in life. Someone beyond the material and we believe that this can be found in a living relationship with God Himself. Our services and groups vary enormously, but in each and all we are looking to deepen our relationship with God, our love for others and our growth in faith and humanity. Please join us.

What happens to the kids at church?

At the 10:45am service we have age appropriate groups for them to attend. At all other services they are most welcome, but if they are primary school age, they may find some of service a little confusing.

Is there a dress code?

In the past you wore your ‘Sunday best’ to church, but not today! Anything goes, though a little decorum is appreciated by our elderly parishioners, things you might wear to a shopping trip rather than a night out on the town!

Will I have to join in?

It all depends on you! You don’t have to join in any of the groups or anything in the services, but most people do. What we sometimes say is that we do not want people to say things they don’t believe. If you are not sure you believe in God, then join in the parts that you’re happy to say. If you don’t want to sing, then don’t no one is forcing you to do anything. In fact we would far rather you were honest than said things you didn’t believe.

I have more questions, how can I get in touch and ask them?

Please do not think you are unusual because you have questions. Even after 40 years at church you will still have questions, though they may be different ones! The best thing to do is to come to church and ask someone who looks like they know what they are doing – a friendly face, to help you!
